Nancy O'Dell's first position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. O'Dell's stories in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. The result was the state government imposing more stringent guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell has worked at Charleston reporting and co-anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV station prior to moving over to Access Hollywood where she is an anchor and reporter during weekends. O'Dell's current role as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She's covered events such as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys and the Golden Globes. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
